Default Idle speed control (valve) on E34 M50 non-vanos engine

is there an idle speed valve on this engine and where is it located - i would like to diy clean it as i suspect it may have something to do with the unstable idle speed (some of time only).

it's in the center under the intake, check out the vacuum line that connects to the nipple that the valve connects to, they rot off so does the breather line from the valve cover to the air boot
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it

i can see where my icv is now. i can see that it has two hoses and an electrical connector attached to it.

i can get the electrical connector OFF easily. however i have a problem with the hose that is 90 degree bent and connected at the other end to the manifold.

i'm not sure how that hose connects to the manifold, what sort of clip is holding it - should i just pull it out of the manifold - will it break anything - it doesn't feel tight but when i try to pull it out - there is a resistance once i move it by about 2-3 mm.

oem diagram g'day i assume you mean the ribbed hose that is coming out of the top of the valve (that is to say no.8 on the diagram, by looking at it on my engine it would appear that is in attached to the manifold by means of a nipple so you can just pull it off, if you look at the diagram the other hose that is going to the intake before the throttle is attached to what looks like a nipple, usually its either a nipple or something with a hoseclamp when it comes to intake hoses.
