not like its crap, just i am a 3 pedel man.
AHH!!! - I just noticed your sig - you have a 535I 5sp - I would not have a BMW with an automatic. Just got thru reading about a auto to 5 sp conversion on a 735i.
auto might be nice, i wouldent know, i know my auto in my e30 325i killed itself for me, i loved it, haha, it would drop into over drive, then super drive, what a sport that car was!
What's so bad about an automatic transmission in a BMW (aside from the Hydramatic, which is decidedly an engineering mishap)?Originally Posted by 1990535IM

First of all, it's a nice job to convert a car.
But!!
To convert an 318 to an M??
Did he also made the rear axle mounting points?
That's a very weak point with E36.
The original E36 M3 has a stronger chassis, because of the known problem.
It would not be the first with an thorn rear axle.
Even the 325i had those problems.
Constructional error from BMW.
I don't know how it is in the States, but by my knowledge, BMW NEVER made an M3 or M5 automatic...
This World Is Mine!!
US Spec '97 & '98 M3 sedans and possibly others were available with AT.

The E36 M3 became available with a 5-speed auto about halfway through its life in North America, about the same time the 4-door M3 became available, IIRC.Originally Posted by TWISM
Don't know if you count SMG as an auto. It's not, really, but can function like one.
