Default GTO blew by me today in a curve!!!

Boy did I feel embarrassed today. I was heading home on a four lane curvy/ hilly 50-55 mph by-pass road. A two door coupe was tailgating a bit. I punched it up a bit going into the first of a series of two curves. He hung on so I pushed it up to about 80 plus in the second curve. I actually had it floor boarded at that point. He cut into the right lane and just BLEW BY ME by me in the curve so quick that I am not sure what the car was!

I think it was newer GTO, the 2004 version without the hood scoops and other stuff. Actually, I feel better now that I know he had about 350 HP to my 190 hp. When I punched it at about 80 in a curve, I sure knew I had a six. This about the only time I wish I had the 540.

    Just an observation.
    Thanks,

Russel, if that was one of the great Aussie built GTO's, feel safe in knowing that in 4 years time that car will be crap and yours will still be the same.

if it is the newer one, your looking at 400 hp there bud, i lined up with a leguna seca blue g35 sedan, it was about from 50-100, and he wasent gaining on me, not enought to pass anyways, felt pretty cool.

    Default I agree

I think it was a GTO. It was so generic and bland looking it was hard to tell. In four to five years it will be junk/forgotten and my e34 should still be running fine. With a little TLC of course!

If it makes you feel better, I posted a faster time than a GTO at our last autocross! Score one for the good guys.
