Default What's the fastest you ever drove, where and what car?

The fastest I ever drove was in Germany about 220km/h in a Volvo station wagon, wouldn't go any faster. I also drove a Toyota Azenis at about 210km/h, also the max for the car.

230KPH on Highway 404 north of Toronto, in an E32 740iL.

It was significantly less nervewracking than the new Mini I had floored all the way from Naples to Milan. That thing topped out at 200KPH. My buddy and I were stopping for fuel every 45 minutes.

I've also had my 1986 Toyota Celica GT-S up to 200KPH on some rough contry sideroads. That's as fast as it would go.

In my current BMW, I haven't yet exceeded 170KPH.

Several years ago I did about 220k on the autobahn in an opel vectra. It was a brand new rental car. 220k was pushing the little motor. My most recent record has been 200k, that was today, on A3 close to Wurzburg.
I really dont want to push my 1989 faster than that.

years ago in my modified jetta VR6, 233klm/h (145mph) on a major highway in Montreal with NO traffic at 2am.
I actually hit a bat and it got stuck in the grill/headlight of the jetta!!! at that speed, poor little bat had no chance!

and then about the same in my 540.

I have no fear under 200k in a german car, (120mph) with good tires.

My 330 has not yet hit 180, as I have slowed down throwing my life into the wind!

As some of you know, there is a huge differencce between above 100 mph, and below. Above, everything changes and the laws of physics work very hard against you!
Drive safe, or your luck will eventually run out.

Actually, my friend has a super modded 944 turbo, he owns RMR Autosport here in Montreal
    http://www.rmr.ca/index.html
It is a huge player in VW, Honda, Subaru..... a little BMW!
Anyways, at a GM test track oval here, we got it up to 275klm on the straight! (170mph)
It has a huge turbo and is by far the nicest 944 turbo ever! (because most of them suck! )
He has recently added a new 911 to his stable as well.

Germany, higway to Kohln, Lamborgini Diablo Annyversaire edition, 315 km/h two months ago at midhight. Never again. The owner of the car drove back himself and hit 330 on the counter, never been so scared in my life, he got his license only 3 months ago.

252km/h according to the speedo in my e34, on a nearly empty highway in the middle of the night. It had a bit more left in it, but I'm not sure how much the speedo lies because of the 17" tires. I actually had my GPS with me, but forgot to use it. Anyway, the car was surprisingly stable at that speed, but I'm not gonna try it again.

IMHO, that would be the perfect complement to my 535.
