Default how do they compare to stock???

dinan claims they are about 1/2" shorter & give a stiffer ride.
    what is your opinion?
i don't want to lose more than 3/4 to 1" in hide height, but i am looking for a stiffer ride & less roll. i due intend to buy heavy duty struts & shocks.
    thanks
    tim s.
