    Default Fault code help

My mechanic recently told me the following regarding check engine light codes:

Checked DME Fault Memory, fault codes 12, 203, stored in memory. Performed related test modules for faults stored as per GTI (BMW Diagnostic Analyzer).
    1) Fault Code 12, Oxygen Sensor 2 open circuit, currently not present
    2) Fault Code 203, Oxygen Sensor Control 2; mixture at oxygen sensor is too rich. Currently not present, traced to a faulty PCV valve, recommend replacing PCV valve cover.

How easy is it for me to replace the PCV valve? I assume the is the problem and not a faulty oxygen sensor?

might be a bit harder than providing what car/engine/year you have at this point.

Haha, yea they dont like it when you dont have that info in the profile... I think they should ask for that info as you sign up to become a member of the forum, like make it mandatory... Cmoon if you dont like it - force people to put that info in there

Are you sure the mechanic used a "GTI"?

If he insists he did, run away -- he doesn't even know the correct acronym for his $17,000 USD diagnostic tool -- Group Tester ONE. GT-1. How can he be expected to fix your car?

Air leaks are common on the V8s, if indeed your car has a V8.

    Sorry guys.

1994 540i V8, what other information would you guys need?

I basically cut and paste what the technician wrote on my receipt when I got it back. I had taken the car in for a coolant leak and replacing of the front brakes when they discovered this new problem....
