    Default extrude hone the IM?

so i was wondering about extrude honing my intake manifold
according to dinan its a great mod that gets a lot of hp

    High Flow Intake Manifold

    Part #:

    Price:
    D760-0340
    $899.00

    Labor Units: 40
Emission Status: 50 State Emission Legal
Special Notes: Exchange price-$300 Refundable Core Deposit
    Point Value: 3

Further increases in horsepower and torque are obtained by adding a Dinan High Flow Intake Manifold. The manifolds are ported and polished using the extrude hone process, then powder coated black for a dramatic, high performance look.

they seem to have taken the nice dyno charts off thier site
but speaking with someone that has done this mod and a lightweight
flywheel they say the 535i is utterly transformed in terms of power

    any thoughts?

Default Utterly transformed? Its a gain of less than 7hp, if you go by the

charts and graphs that dinan put up before, using the way back machine. Probably closer to 5 hp with the manifold. thats about a 2.5% increase for 900 bucks..thats a little too steep per hp for me.

    Default

well i'm not down with paying dinan's price
that is why i wanna send my manifold to have it honed out on my own...

perhaps it was the flywheel that "transformed" the car?

were i to hone the manifold , matching the intake ports would prolly help too...

oh and this wouldnt be just tacking it on for the hp this would be to compliment the turbo...
