Actually, it's not a valve. It's a simple connector, as the description says. It connects one of the vacuum hoses to the intake manifold.

    It's #9 in this picture:

Anyway, it costs $3 - you cannot buy a valve from BMW at that price

it's what couples the idle control valve to the intake, the little tooth that latches it to the intake breaks off is about all that ever happens to it, it will stay in the intake without the tooth but a backfire will burp it out of position and cause a huge vacuum leak
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it

    winfred,

the vacuum line that goes from that coupler to the crank case ventilation tube - is that necessary? I.e., can I cap that vacuum line? It seems to just serve the purpose of pulling the vapors from the crank case in addition to the crank case ventilation line (in fact, it is on the same connector, or so it seems). So what if I were to remove the vac line from the crank case vent (the reason i ask is because i am supercharging the car and definitely do not want boost to go into the crank case. So, is the vac line only to suck vapors out of CCV? If so, having the CCV vent hose hooked up to the intake of the supercharger should be adequate enough to draw fumes, no? Please assist. Thanks in advance.
