    Default Exhausts

I want to upgrade my exhaust but I don't want too much more noise. My question in, how much more if any flow does an E36 M3 exhaust have compared to a 93 525i? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks All

If I had my time again I'd go stock. There area lot of mistakes for the custom pipe maker to make on these cars, then instead of the sound you want u get booming (inside).

I think 525 is the same exhast as 535 except 535 has a resonator, so I'd say the 525 exhaust has some extra capacity.

I think some 525s also have the resonator, (not sure the exact diff it makes) so u might be able to avoid it altogether- check the ETK over different manufacturing years perhaps. If going non genuine check the pipe sizes: The engine pipes are 2" to the cat, from the cat back they drop to 1 3/4 or some are 1 1/2" (maybe 520 only)

Perhaps you can get a good dude to mod the pipes and use the stock rear muffler.. I am sure you can't beat it- so long as its a reasonable oem.
