You can replace the not adjustable one to adjustable one. Then you can move the whole light in or out. Only it will be hard to aim the lights. I have move my low beam into the car more by using 3 adjustable screws.

That looks perfectly normal to me. I think you are trying to recess it unnaturally far inside the grille. Every e34 I've seen has the chrome bezel sticking out there. It doesn't make me think it looks weird, the light is angled nice and straight 'sall. I'm usually one for the aesethics, but this seems to me to be perfectly normal and easy on the eye.. but it's just my 2c worth!Nick.

The upper looks correct, the lower looks wrong.
