Should I swap out the tranny?

$500 for a 2nd hand tranny v 2500 for a rebuild. even if it buys a couple of years, keep the old tranny and set it up at home to strip and service, what have you got to loose. if it works money saved. if if dosent then get the 2nd hand tranny rebuilt.

I agree, If it will buy me two years I would be extremely happy. Maybe I could ues this opportunity to learn how to tear down and re-build mine over the next year? I'll have to start reading up and collecting more tools. Hey did I just say more tools? Sweet, morrrrrrrrrre toooooooools!
