    I saw a e28 525e I think it was...and I was wonderin what does the e stand for

    Economy, i think. I also think it may be the 535i engine that has been detuned and redlines much lower. Probably better gas mileage and cheaper to buy. BTW, i like your car.

    It's not the m30 535 engine it is the m20 engine. They are a 2.7l high torque low hp engine that was desinged to get better mileage. I used to have an '87 325e, kind of fun to drive with the torque but not quick by any means.
