e34 fan belt tension

please help,i have just fitted a new water pump on my 91 525i se auto and was lazy taking off the fan belt and now need to put it back but not sure about the tensioner.I have got the dust cover off the tensioner but there is no allen bolt but just a 17mm normal bolt head that doesnt seem to want to undo....anyone any ideas

turn the bolt in a clockwise direction to move the tensioner to get the belt over it.
