Thread: Still having problems

    Default Still having problems

I'm still having problems with my central locking, the locks cycle when you lock/unlock them. I found problems with the trunk wiring harness, fixing them fixed the trunk lock motor, but the door locks are still a problem. The passenger door acuator has 5 wire going to it, Three for power and two for signal. With an meter should i see any readings accross the wire connector when I lock/unlock the car?

Thanks for the diagrams, they helped me greatly. I have since checked all of the wiring and continuity checks have eliminated any concerns of damaged wiring. And yet the problem continues.

Default Did you also check the fuel door?

    Hi,

That one has a lock as well and it can cause the same problem as a door/trunk lock.

    Regards,

The gas door lock accuator works but I don't think it sends a signal to the GM regarding if it is locked or unlocked. It only has two wires going to it, reversing polarity to lock/unlock. The driver/passenger door accuators have 5/6 wires, three for power and three for a status signal to the GM. I'm not sure if this is correct as nobody seems to know, this is just what I have figured out on my own. If you have any info I would appreciate your response.

I have reviewed the diagrams and it appears different than my car. Do you have any info on 1990 525i american spec models?

Man, that's a pretty cool reference link. Is there one for the 1989 E34?
