My car was built on 7/95. It is a 525IA. That is considered a late model e34 w/vanos correct?

...and ensure that your car is not a EWS-II car. My car is not (it is a 5/94 build 1995 model). Later 1995 cars were, and yours might be a EWS-II car, being a 7/95 model. What color is the label on your DME? If it's grey, it's an EWS-II car.

I didn't even pull my DME to look yet. I did PM Mark so I will wait to hear from him. What does EWS-II stand for? What does DME stand for? On my Passat we called it an ECU.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Default My 95 525i is an EWS car made 1/95

I had to wait until Mark made a chip that would work on the EWS cars. Mine was made in 1/95 the start of the EWS cars. Need to use 91 octane.

    Hi,

I responded to your PM. Your car has EWS-II, the anti-theft system in which there is a unique code stored in the EPROM chip. As mentioned by Russell, I can supply you with that chip.
