    Default E34 in the movies

I was roped into watching Jersey Girl this weekend and there are 2 reasons to watch it; 1) George Carlin and and a black on black E34. Many shots of it in the movie.

Nothing tops the E34 M5 chase in Ronin... which is a close to "Car Porn" for us E34 nuts...

Glad someone brought this up. I've heard talk about Ronin and had seen it a couple times prior to owning an e34. The M5 that is in the chase has a normal front bumper on it instead of the m-tech. Is this normal over there, had that one just been changed out, or did they use a 525 or 535 for the action scenes?

the car they did the chase in for acutally filming the sequences is not an m5. it is a RHD e34 that has a fake LHD steering wheel/gauge cluster/ display so that it would appear natasha mcellhone (however her name is spelled) is driving, when really it is a stunt driver in the passenger seat driving the the car with the RHD stuff....
still, they do a good job hiding the fact it isn't an m5, don't they?

I saw an interview with the director of Ronin where he was asked about the M5 in the movie. Apparently he is nuttier about e34 than we are. He thought abusing and using an m5 in the movie the way he did was sacrilige. He used a 520 instead and dubbed the engine noise in later. He could get 6 520 for the cost of abusing one m5. They were all dressed as m5. That explains the lack of mtech front bumper. - JT
