Default feeler- maybe selling 3pc AC schnitzler wheels

    Thinking of selling my wheels.
    3pc AC schinitzler
    17x8.5
    17x9.5
Kumho 711 tires 235-45-17 good for about 6 more months
Kumho 711 tires 255-40-17 need replacement.

    Condition. need rechrome on lip.

Here is the story. I had these wheels for a long time now. When I bought them I had the lips chromed. They were fine until last year I had a set of Mintex pads and the dust ate up the chrome.

So I'm thinking to get new wheel instead of using the money to fix it if I can get a good price for them.

attached is how they look on the car when the chrome was still good.

I'm in Local LA Cali area.. wheels still on the car.

How much do you think I could get for them?

I'd say at least $200 each if not damaged

Hmmmm... Bavauto has them listed new for $1,499 each...on sale now for $1,300 each. Interestingly enough, they were $999 each about two years ago. Price went up by 50%....sheeessh...

Then again, market forces dictate price. Depending on the condition of the lip, maybe around $800 - $1,200 a set as pmlmotorsports said.

Ummmm the SSR's are not a concave design, but convex which many find unattractive on big bodied bimmers, but it's all a matter of taste. Plus they are 18", the Schnitzers are 17" and made by OZ Racing, plus they have "status" and although dated, they are still sought after. If ya like the SSR look, you can get a set of replicas by doing a search for AZA Wheels, or going to Wheelmax.com

I was sort of blown away at the price too! Not to mention that it went up by 50% over a couple of years.

Here is a cut and paste from the bavauto website:

(click to see more) AC Schnitzer Type II 3-piece Wheel - 17" x 8.5"
    Part # : 3611 3851 ON SALE!
    $ 1349.95
    (reg. $ 1499.95)

Here's a link, but I'm not sure if the specific search that I did will come out with this link. It may redirect you back to their homepage. However if you do a quick search under "wheels and tires" and then on their ac schnitzers, you will find them...

Wow getting great response on the wheels. my wheels would be the older Type I 3pc wheels. It is not the Type II. I'm getting the feeling that perhaps I should just spent the $400 or so to fix it.

I had them so long. forgot how valuable they once were.

    re-Chrome lip $65 each
    re-finish face about $40 each.

re assemble and seal. will take me about 2-3 hours.

I don't know, they sure look like the Type II with the titanium recessed bolts.
