    Default Diff problem

the diff in my car has recently started only hooking up one wheel sometimes. does this mean it's time for a rebuild? there's no noise or anything abnormal, it just doesn't lock up both wheels all the time.

the clutches are probably getting worn a bit, did you change the fluid yet?

Before rebuilding, try special lsd diff oil ( sounds like some kind of drug...)

any of the new synthetic lubes are compatable for posi/LSD units, try the 75w90 might give you some more gription back there...dont add the special addative.

Is this the Mobil brand Jeff ? We use this oil in the drifting track days with good results.

I dont remember what I found but it was full syn, not mobil though. I read that illind units perform better with the thinner stuff...and when it dont its "ebay time".

i've put 40k miles on the car since i've had it and i haven't changed the fluid. so between jeff/jose, what fluid do you guys reckon i should use? don't want the thing getting any worse till i can afford a rebuild. is there anywhere in the states that sells clutch packs coz i think trying to get them here in oz will be a hard task.

complete unit is easier then a rebuild, no clue where to get replacement stuff though.
