Default 525/535 tank-mounted fuel pumps- anyone know if they are the same?

For the e34 that is.... searched the boards and found nothing that states it clearly... I know there are a few different types depending on manufacture date- I guess the issue for me is really are they interchangable (ie same flow rate) if one has they same looking pump...

as a complete assembly ether intank unit will work fine, theres two different style pumps and two different style level senders, i think all combos will work if mixed but....

Great thanks Winfred, so it seems that as long as one gets all the tank-mounted pump bits from, say a donor 525i, I should be ok putting it all in my 535i. Just what ai needed, thanks. If it doesn;t work out- I'll let you know! GP

Default you can cross reference part #s from the online database.

When you input the 11 digit part number for the fuel pump for a 535i (w/mfg date of 4/88)...you'll see that part #16141181354 was used in the E32 and E34. And when you click the e34 link (for more detailed info) you'll see that fuel pump was used in several e34 models...it appears that it's compatible or interchangable by model year moreso than by model number: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref....ur=&series=E34

From the home page of the online parts database...you can click a link that will cross reference the BMW 11 and 7 digit part numbers (see image below w/link identified in red).

    Default Year dependent, M20/30 3 bar, M50/60 3.5 bar (Bentley's) ...

but think that it is more a responsibility of FPR.

yep 3.0-3.5 bar, none really have enough of a difference in fuel requierment ether flow or pressure to have a problem, i think the price difference is the design of the early pump, it looks like a bosch external inline pump with a pressure damper screwed inplace of the check valve and a sock filter on the pick up end, opposed to the elcheepo looking vdo pump that looks like it came from a chevy. level senders are ether a somewhat take apartable unit or a glued together unit, they look about the same
