Default The hardest thing ive ever done in my life

was trying to replace to 3-inch long power steering hoses that connect the resisor to the cooling coil. they're nestled under the brake booster, under the cruise control actuator. I can't even begin to describe how hard they were to get off and on. I ended up using a razor to slice them into ribbons and then used pliers to pull them off the pipes piece by piece. it took me all day to replace 2 short hoses.

As for the other ones, i just cut off the bad sections and used a 1/2'' DOubled ended brass barb from the plumbing section at Lowes to connect new sections of hose. i think i've solved my leaks now! the connections at the pump are fine and don't leak, it was just the ruber sections of each hose had rotted away.

Man that's rough. On the other hand, I can practically climb in the engine compartment and change them in my 535!

Default Ever tried replacing clutch master cylinder?

The hydraulic line is also under the brake booster. Lost some knuckles on that one.

I've been trying to remove the final screw holding my driver's side headlight off and on for two days now. I've been spraying the damn thing with PB Blaster and busting knuckles trying to get it out.

if anyone has a suggestion, I'd be eternally grateful!

the screws that hold the actual headlight asembly to the car are screwed into little plastic anchors, not metal. Just rip and pry and break it out. the little plastic screw-holes are probably 15cents a piece.

I could have saved myself a lot of pain if i had removed the cruise control actuator first. its hard to get out but once its out of the way you have a lot more room. I also tried really hard to remove the cooling coil but aparently it's installed in such a way that the radiator has to be absent for it to come out. or the aux fan at least.
