Default I think the only difference is the color

The MMII-2 is a darker finish, a nice grey, would look good on a black or white car IMO. check www.tirerack.com

they look badass, but they're REALLY soft rims, you will bend them quick if you aren't careful.

I've heard that they are really soft from many people, but my 16s thus far have been fine through 2 owners and probably about 60K miles. Roads in PA are no picnic either. Does the 1 inch difference and lower sidewall make that much of a diff?

newly refinished could mean "newly hiding serious damage"

mine have been redone 3 times and are so soft and delicate... I am waiting for them to blow!
Look at the edges, inside and out, mine have thin edges on the inside lip where they are soft ,,,, be careful...

are they the staggered set of 17x8" and 17x9" or all 4 the same 8"?
