Default $244,800 for 1999 VW Golf

Man... lucky kid... he is only 21 years old. He bought it this January from used car lot for 10,000 euro. Sold it on eBay... and some dude in Austin, Texas bought it!

Why? It was owned by the current Pope.

hmm. Why in the world would you buy the current pope's car? I'd rather buy a second house in texas.

the thing is, there isn't even any record of the pope ever having a driver's license!
i bet someone with the same name as the pope was driving it, that's all.

becuase thats what a used 99 golf probably goes for? I imagine whoever sold it didn't think much of it being owned by a cardinal

Why can't the cardinal own an E34 like most decent people ?. A golf is a kid's hothatch which ever way you look at it!. Especially in Europe!.

Not quite. Most europeans are not obsessed with the size of their car, and Golf is a very usable car all-around, has low fuel consumption and maintenance costs. Many europeans (especially german people) appreciate that.
