Default Brake LT circuit : warning!.

Please advise on how to trouble-shoot this ?.

I added a 48 element LED brake light wired in parallel to the brake lights. It was OK for 3 weeks and since last week. I get intermittent warnings twices. This warning clears itself when ignition switches off.

    Any ideas ?.
PS: Pretty sure all bulbs are OK in the car.

Default install somewhere a normal bulb as resistor

so that the LKM get's a normal signal. Here the page from Alex in Germany who installed a 4W bulb in between.

Here a page in German, maybe you try trnaslation with altavista.babelfish

For sure the electronic freaks might have a better idea.

it's possible that the brake light switch is dieing as they all do, the lights usually work fine but you get false warnings till you replace the switch, it's real common

Winfred, will check the brake switch as well as per Gale's page.

But Shogun, my touring does NOT have a 3rd brake light originally. I used an aftermarket LED segment hooked in parallel to the main brake light driver side and it barely draws enough current to light up real bright.

The fact that this warning comes intermittently may signal a failing brake switch.

nz cars do have a third brake light .When i had this warning it fixed by the brake light switch. One difference from gales page is that you do not push the red retainer home, just engage it and in this way the switch sets its own position,i destoyed my first switch, the dealer made great pains to tellme the switch is self setting IF the red retainer is not pushed home
