    the "check" light has started flashing on my E30 325is when the car is started and stays on for about 5 mins. anyone know the cause of this?

    The flashing "Check" is telling you to look up between the visors...you will see a red light telling you what is wrong. You can press the button up there to make the "Check" stop flashing...but that doesn't fix the problem, it just shuts off the "Check".

    If you are referring to the Check light flashing between engine start and pressing on the brake pedal, it's just telling you to tap the brake pedal to check brake light functionality.

    -If it never goes out:
    Do you have a Check Control panel? If so, it should have one or more LEDs illuminated or flashing indicating the fault. If not, try pressing the "CHECK" button on it to illuminate all the LEDs to be sure one isn't burnt out. If one doesn't light, that could be the warning it's trying to notify you about.
