Location of door lock heating element?

Hi,
I am still troubleshooting my central locking.

According to the a website (http://germanautospecialists.com/Newsletter3.html) it could be due to "door lock heating element".

So where is this "door lock heating element" is located? How can i by-pass this since i am not in cold country? (my e32 was imported from the UK).
