Another question about my poor e34.
The fuel gauge is broken and the light is now constantly on.
Where is the sender unit located? Is this an expensive fix?

trace the wires from the tank forward looking for a short or where it might have been rubbing grounding before you pull the tank.

pick up the trunk mat and on the right side theres a black plate held with + screws, theres two different style senders on the e34, one of which can pop apart inside the tank and trap the float, it's worth a look to see if you can just pop it together and it's fixed, if it's that one
