Transmission question...

I had local repair shop do my transmission fluid change today. He said that there are 2 sections in my 1995 525i (GM trans) transmission and only did one section. What's the other section and when do I need to change that?

what A-holes, it goes from one to the other kinda like them fords with the dual sump oil pans...(genious?). I think maybe he was too lazy to drop the pan. Since he only did half the job I'm sure he only charged you half the price though.

How could they change the oil filter without taking the pan down?

There are two pans, a larger one and a smaller one.
The mechanic probably took down the larger one, which houses the filter.

i'd love to know what the hell's up there that requires you to remove the front pan. if they were gonna put another pan up there, howzabout at least a damn magnet if not a damn drain plug. its not like particulate gets trapped there for you to see, goddamnit. i'm sorry, my car is stuck at work because the 1/8in x 1/2 inch piece of plastic that attaches the icv hose to the intake manifold just broke, rendering it immobile (engine blows ICV hose off at startup as a result) until i can get a tow from my roomate tomorrow morning. im thinkin about sticking a bolt through it and using bungee cord around the intake manifold to hold it in until i can get a new one. f'ing piece of shiat. anyway, back to the pan. i've never seen anything in the front pan warranting it being removed at filter changes.

Those are some fine pieces of driving manichinery you have there. How do you keep them with such low mileage. Just beautiful. Love the old Maserati.

Thanks, Brian... I work only 2 miles from my house so I don't put too many miles in my cars. Also, having three cars keeps the miles low since you could only drive one at a time. I just finished a cross-drilled-rotor install on my Jaguar. They look great! Does anyone know if the drilled pattern suppose to be certain way? My Brembo was labeled left and right but my friend's Porsche rotor pattern go the other way... PICTURES BELOW ARE MY NEW CROSS-DRILLED-ROTORS:
