they aren't quite as cool as they look, the inner tubing can break loose and rattle (rare and a bitch to figure out the noise) the neatest ones come on the twin cam 318s, they are solid thick tube stainless

Yeah, when I first looked under the hood of my 540, I was impressed to see a set of stock exhaust manifolds that are basically stainless shorty headers. Which begs the question... has anyone put aftermarket headers on a basically stock 530 or 540? I wouldn't see the point unless you were planning major headwork.

i think there was an arugment a while ago about getting headers and the consensus was basically that; theres no point unless you're doing other major engine modification.

Actually i disagree. Partly. I was looking on the ETK. The passenger side header is awesome. Tubular, somewhat equal length etc. The drivers side is horrible. Look at pictures of it on the ETK... they're pathetic.

Default Actually they aren't a shorty header design, they are a

4 into 2 into 1 design on each bank and the 2 into 1 collector is way downstream unlike shorty headers. I would imagine that this is a very efficient exhaust especially with the double wall tubing to help it retain heat and energy to improve scavenging.
