E34 - Self levelling rear suspension:

Dont know if anyone can help - self levelling shocks on my e34 are leaking and apparently are a non service item, replacement cost is nonsensical, I want to replace them with an aftermarket spring/shock kit: Does anyone know what you do to disable the self levelling system ???? i.e. is it as simple as plugging the hydraulic line:

Whoever directed me to the web site for ripping the self levelling out of my E34 - thanks a lot - theres light at the end of the tunnel !!!
