Play in the transmission output flange...

Hi Guys.. I had a driveline vibration that led me to think that the flex-disc was hooped ( quite cracked to look at it) My local mechanic removed the driveshaft to inspect it and replace the flex-disc, which actually did not look all that bad, but we replaced it anyway. What we did find was a very loose bearing or seal in the output shaft, it had a good 1/16" of play.

My question is whether anyone has pulled out the flange assembly from the end of the tranny (5 speed auto) and replaced the bearing etc.

I have checked the archives and Bruno's site and nothing seems to surface.
