E46 VANOS adjustment

I recently done a head job on the E46 325ci. I used the JIG to set the cams. The car runs fine, but the check engine light indicated the code (104 by snap on), meaning "VANOS end position outlet cam".

Does anyone know if there should be an adjustment setting other than the JIG used for the CAMS? Is there any setting for the VANOS? If I scope the two VANOS sensors, what should I look for at what RPM?


I appreciate any feedback and will share my experiences with any of you fellow techs out there.
