can you go and measure my tires circumfrence for me? Its cold out there.
Check Tirerack's page & pick your favorite tire and then click on "Spec's", it will give you tire diameters for all sizes. Stock for my e32 is 225-60-15 which is about 25.6" to 25.7" o.d. depending on brand. I've been running 16" tires for a year or so & they make a great compremise for comfort and handling. My next set of tires are going to be staggered with 245-50-16 in the rear & 235-50-16 in the front if they clear, otherwise 225-55-16 in the front. I prefer to go with no more than a 50 profile, 55's are a bit mushy for a summer tire.
Then again, if you go to a minus 1 like a 225-50-16, it effectively tweaks the final drive ratio and will give a bit better lowend performance & the smaller tire offers better turn-in.
just punch in 225/60/15 and use that for the refrence size

Although if your wheels are wide enough(say...16x8), I think a 235/50/16 would be a great choice.
I've used this java page for as long as I can remember to calculate correct tire profiles: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
