Have you checked under the driver's side back seat to make certain the module is not there? If it is, you only need the remote fob(s).
What year and model are your car?
Its a 1989 (10/88 Production Date) 535iM. Going to look under driver side back seat.
My 1989 (9/88 Production Date) 525i did not have the connector which would have made installing a keyless really easy. I don't know about the 535iM
what does this connector look like, basically if you are looking under the seat how do you know if you have it or not?
All that's needed for keyless is a module and key fob?
How would one go about getting a key fob?
Oh and yes pics of this module... I have a '90 535im with heated seats / sun roof / lsd if it makes a difference.
It will be located under the rear right passenger seat. 89-90 did not have this option....at least not on the 525i.Quote:

The keyless sytem I bought was to be connected to a 12-pin connector like this picture, located under th rear seat - passenger (Right) side.

Nope, the only way that works is with the key in the door. My friends e36 viper remote DOES close the windows. I really do wish mine would! I'm sure there is a way...Quote:

Ok I have that connector, now can I just go out and buy any keyless entry and it will hook right up into that connector? or what is the install procedure, I looked at the write up on bmwe34.net but it was a little confusing and long winded.Quote:

I have a rattler 110D keyless entry system with no manuals or "access codes".. soo I haven't installed it yet because I can't access their DIY website.. Does anybody know which wires I will need to tap into to do keyless entry ?
Yeah I decided to go get a Valet 712t keyless entry, cost was $120 installed, dont have to worry about messing up the wiringQuote:
