hey i just got a 1995 525i. i do not know much about cars but am getting into it, so i was wondering if it was possible to put a cold air intake into my car? if yes, where can i get one? any info would be great thanks.

I think the that the K&N air filter in the stock box works just as good as the cone as long as you keep the K&N clean, and lubricate properly and periodically. Also, the stock air box has a heat shield right in front of the front exhaust manifold. Mine is equipped with a heat shield that is painted black... bad idea. I'm in the process of stripping it and will paint the shield metallic so that it reflects the heat away from the box, not into the box as would be the case with a black shield.
mob1...your car already has a cold air intake, there is almost no restriction in the intake system especially on a small engine such as yours.
The stock intake is good enough on the automatic.

He's just saying that despite any hp you get out it, it's still an automatic, ie. a slug. A nice slug though, but still slow. 0-60 in 9 seconds.
