    Default What do we do about "trolls"? Is there a forum concensus?

    We occasionally get those folks drifting by that just like to stir the pot. How should we handle them? Got one in mind at present...

    In my experience, it's best to just ignore them.

    Default Do a search by user for "YODA 1" and you'll see what I mean...

    The cold shoulder is about the best thing.... they don't ban people... but people have been "driven" out for being asses... like ukm5 or whatever his name was....
    If it cannot be fixed by the dremel or ducktape.. get out the sledge...

    A "no flames" rule, well enforced, will take care of that.

    On other forums I visit, there's a "report bad post" button on every post. Someone can click that and report to a moderator why they think that post is inappropriate. The moderator can choose to ban the poster temporarily or permanently if they wish.

    That seems to me like a good way to get the whole community working against flames without making too much work for the moderators.

    Temp bans I would support... perm bans there is no reason for..... ignore them and they will go away....

    i agree with charles.. i dont think its really a problem, ignore them and they will go away.
