Default Best hiding spot on an e34.

Hey, you guys know I'm not endorsing any antisocial behavior or anything. But every now and then you need to bring something along that, well, might be considered contraband by the wife, the man, or anybody else for that matter.

The spot should not be time consuming to get to, and not require any tools.

I'll start with a decent one: If you remove the carpet from the trunk all the way, in front of the spare is a black plastic shelf indented about 3 inches. When you lift the carpet, the crease keeps the spot hidden. If you really want to go all out, get a piece of matching black plastic, and create a false top.

I can think of a bunch of others, but I'm curious to see what you guys think.

I hide my dead bodies in the trunk... :-)

Behind the capart up against the tail lights works well.. so does under the back seat.

If it cannot be fixed by the dremel or ducktape.. get out the sledge...

I don't know how easy it is to remove the plastic back from a seat, but it seems like a good place.

In my mom's Jeep, you can lift up the rear seat bottom (spare tire tools in there), which makes for a great place to stash your wallet and phone when you go to the beach. I take the jeep to the beach alot since it fits my surfboard well.

In the E34....I would say up behind the spare tire jack.

I'd like to see someone devise a lockable, spring loaded tray that could replace the ashtray/lighter.... that would be very spy.

Default I take my gun when traveling with the family and....

go to West Yellowstone, Montana. There are a lot of unstable people in this world and I will protect my family at all costs. My wife hates it but I will not budge on the issue.

In Arizona, a concealed weapon without a permit will get you in deep dodo.

Also, you aren't supposed to have any weapons (loaded/assembled) in national parks. Bears and other aggressive animals could be an issue on those kinds of trips, so be ready.

My wife's cousin is a professional fly fishing guide and ALWAYS is armed while in the field.

I do prefer the area under the carpet at the front of the trunk. It just seems ideal.

    My $0.02.

It would be nice to get at it from the cabin, but I agree it's a great spot for firearms. The man is going to find it just about anywhere in the cabin if he's looking.

Modify your center vent on top of the dashboard. Rip off the cover, stick in a plate so that stuff doesn't fall through, and then make the type of system found on like casette-doors of home stereos, so that it's spring loaded and opens up with the push of a button.

edit, you could even stick in a net or grille material in there so that air still blows through and doesnt make it seem suspicious.
