    Default Timer on vents question.

I have tried to set up the fan on the vents to keep the air flow going inside the car after I get out for over a year a now and I have finally given up on the ridiculous BMW instructions. Does anyone have a quick, easy to follow way of setting up the timer on these? I don't think I am an idiot although I just do not comprehend the original instructions.

Press the TIMER button. If the display says TIMER instead of VENT, then your car does not have the timed ventilation function, only the timer function.

    Cheers,

    David

It's just a timer. Set a time and the OBC beeps at the preset time.

Default I think only cars with the "independent" heater

actually have the "vent" feature. This is an ongoing discussion. Some people swear that they have actually seen "vent" display on the OBC but can never replicate the actual sequence of button pushes to make it reappear!.I just leave the sunroof tilted open instead,I have a highly specced euro car and have never been able to get the vent function to work

    Default If nobody else will...

I am one of those people who have seen the vent--only to loose it again. This is definately on my spring to do list. Atlanta is just too hot in the summer for mere cracking of the sunroof. That and the green dash from the pollen just does not go with the rest of the car.

Default I saw the 'vent' light today.

So how do I set it up? It is there every time I looked for it today. Just wondering if anyone has set this up successfully from the BMW instructions. It was definitely not the 'timer' light.

    Default Got it to work!!!

Screwed around for a half hour or so and now my venting system does work properly. Glad to try that when it gets into the eighties here in Chicago especially with a black on black car.

Default Okay, so how'd you do it?

Did you follow the instructions to retrofit the parts or did you work thru the button combinations to get it set up? Inquiring minds want to know!

    Default Button combinations it was.

It did say vent and I will hopefully be able to write it up tomorrow for all. The instructions that come in the manual suck big time so I will write it up more clearly. It is a nice feature even though it is only 50 here today in Chicago.
