Default Removing rear door panel with door locked

The rear door on the driver’s side will not open. I have only had the car for a year, trying to fix some of the problems. I have never been able to open the door, dose any one have any suggestions.(1989 535i, 5 speed)

Not to hijack the thread but I have the same issue. The manual lock is stuck and I bought the guts ( latch, handle, etc..) . How can I get the panel off in 1 piece?

I must have some quality german clips because my door panel was giving before my near 20 year old NC sun treated clips were.
This is not my usual method but ( good preface) what does a panel go for?
