I usually fill up with shell simply because it's local to me, though I would be just as happy with chevron or unocal76. Once the prices start getting crazy again, I'm heading back to Costco where I can hopefully avoid the long lines.

Everyone now and then, I try to add a fuel injector cleaner if I remember to buy some.

Sunoco 93, Amoco 93, or Shell 93; whatever is cheapest. Currently paying $1.55 for 93 Sunoco in Burlington, NJ. I tried the 94 Sunoco but it's not worth the extra 20¢ a gallon. Use a bottle of Techron every 3,000 miles or so.

Amoco Ultimate on Thursdays when it's the same price as mid-grade. I think the last fill-up was about $1.60/gallon.

I've been using 89 Shell in mine and runs perfectly... I've been paying about $1.69 in Raleigh NC. I've gotten about 1 mpg increase since I installed Mark's chip.

Costco 100% of time... fresh gas is the key.

Well i used to buy wherever it was cheapest. Kinda like my dad telling me once; ‘oil is oil, just change it often enough’.
Now of course i use synthetic (thanks to the internet *rolleyes*). According to a coworker who spent a few years in the petro industry, gas is like anything else, ‘you get what you pay for’.
So i try to buy only Shell, BP and Mobil. The premium is usually 93oct. To help defray costs, i buy out by work where the taxes are less than in the city where i live. Taking the extreme example of downtown station pricing i can be saving upwards of 15c a gallon.

It's a MC with no annual fee. Around here, that's about $0.10/gallon. It adds up over time. They also have lowest prices of any major, in this area, so I use them.

I've always used premium, but not sure if so cali is 91 or 92. The last time I filled up, it was $2.05/gallon, which seems to be pretty good price compared to others.

Is mobil good gas? I was under the impression that they were somewhat watered down, and not really top tier gas.

today i saw at exxon it was 87 at $1.89 but some other go up to $2.30, i usually go to costco sence i have the card and i dont have to pay for gas, but i tried all of them and they all seem to be the same from 87-91 no diff. But if u do want a push get the $110-118 octane. If u r in Los Angeles, its in santa monica, canyon station u could get the 110 for 5.99 or 6.99 not shure.

I use Shell whenever possible. They claim that all grades of their gas are Tier 3 and that it has enough detergents to clean up deposits left by lower quality gas. They also claim that some other brands have differing Tiers for their grades (e.g. Premium might be Tier 3, but regular might be lower).

I was running premium (91 aki) until I read the manual and switched to regular (87 aki). I'll be switching back to premium when I get my EAT chip. Shell doesn't sell anything higher than 91 in this area...
