I hope this ain't too self indulgent!. Excuse the camera work. I borrowed it from my work and I haven't quite mastered it yet.

The motor hadn't recently been cleaned... although there is an oil leak from around the crank sensor area.

Apparently I tried to include too many images in a single post so I'll post 'Part 2' shortly

Very nice ride, Pundit. I'm sure she'll be gleaming in no time! Congrat, again.

Cheers,
Duey

How rare is a e34 535i 5 speed down under ?

I'd say no more than ten percent over here. I considered a manual but most I'd looked at were in not as good condition as the auto I wound up buying. If I wasn't using it as a daily commuter (part rural driving, part traffic) then I might have held out until I found a decent 5 speed, but right now I'm quite enjoying the armchair ride! ;) If I wind up at another job closer to home, or even directly working from home, and the auto packs it in, then who knows, I could maybe transplant a 5 speed! :)
