is there a typical place for the e30 trunks to leak? the left pocket where the jack sits is full of water every time it rains. i have yet to find the leak.

My Antenna Bushing Was In Horrible Shape When I Purchased My E30 And Leaking.
*also* When I Changed Out My Old Tail Lights I Found A Small Hole Developing Behind The Gasket For The Lamp. Very Odd, Considering These Vehicles Don't Badly Rust In Montana And This Car Has No Other Rust.
*also* Check Or Have Your Upper Shock Tower Mounts (rear) Checked Because They Also Are Mounted Through The Trunk And Sealed With A Gasket. (my Gaskets, Like The Rest, Were Rotted And Leaky)

Good news, this is a common problem. There are three possible culprits. 1. The Aerial, 2. The main seal, and 3. the rear lights.

Yes, it always is puzzling how the rear boot seal leaks, but it can. It actually shrinks and creates a small enough gap for water to get in. The Same for the rear light seals. Neither are very expensive to fit. The Aerial can be sealed with some silicone.

Hope this helps,
