Ok I have a 92 735i and I got a set of 17 inch Rims with 235/45-17 and they won't fit on the front cuz they rub on the shock... what size spaces can I use??? And there is a very enoying rattle it sounds like its front of the back wheels?? I've looked and banged around and I come up with nothing..... also when I apply pressure on the brakes it goes away but everything is tight... any help would be very appreciated!!! Thanks my fellow bimmer nuts!!!

what is the ET?
wheel fitment guide, Wheel specifications:
Hub center diametre: 72.5 mm
Number of bolts: 5
Pattern: 120 mm
Offset (ET): 20mm (anything between 13 and 20 is good)
The offset is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. Wrong offset = bad handling.
An ET22 wheel is further in toward the centerline of the car than an ET20 by 2mm. ET13 wheels are 7mm further out than the OE E34/E32 wheels.

Wheel/tire combination
15x7" Wheels (OEM)
205/65-15
225/60-15

16x7.5" Wheels:
215/55-16
225/55-16

17x7 - 7.5 - 8 - 8.5" Wheels:

255/40-17

18x8.5" Wheels:
235/40-18

Rattle might be worn out and loose upper shock mount?

um idk what the ET is.... im gonna try some 10mm spacers on the front and see what it does, the 225/65 15 rubs on the shock sometimes u can see paint is rubbed off and there is a grove wearing in my tire. and i dont think its the shock mount... when u go slow say on gravel (work parking lot) and open your door and listen its like right under the back seat.. i need new trailing arm bushings or dog bones... but im stuck its rattled forever and idk what the hell it is!! thanks for the help guys

I had the sam rattle problem on my 740.....the place I bought the car from had the brakes replaced and they didn't use any anti-rattle compound on the outer pads....pulled them off, lathered them up, reassembled......no more rattle!

Yeah they have the anti-rattle clips and I'm sure they were lubed up Im gonna pull um off and re lather them and see if not I'm getting all new rear brakes and if that's not it then Idk..
Thanks everyone
