My 740iL was in the shop to troubleshoot a leak. My trusted mechanic found the leak in the steering box. He tried to find a repair kit to rebuild the box but there was none available. I checked the dealership and they were asking $3000.00 including core and tax!! Would a good salvaged box be enough or is there a fix for the box? Shogun?????

so far I found only repair kits for the ZF steering gear which is on the 735 and the 750. That repair set however will also be omitted when stock is gone. I repaired my steering gear abt. 18 months ago and it works fine.
740 have LUK or Vickers steering gears.
You have to find a repair shop, gogle gave me this
