I picked up Red Line Synthetic ATF "for Dexron II Applications" - its the only ATF they had at the performance shop. Is this ok? Should I return it and order Dexron III or something? Halp!

If you mean the A5S310Z (5HP18) there are two types of ATF - if the plate on the gearbox is black it takes Dexron III, if its green it takes Esso LT71141. I wouldnt have a clue what the difference between II and III is but for peace of mind I'd stick to III.

You mentioned ATF (automatic transmission fluid) so I thought you meant an auto. Silly me:D

ZF310Z is a manual transmission. Dexron II is for automatic transmissions. The ZF310Z should use Red Line Synthetic Manual Transmission Oil -a 70W80 GL-4 gear oil. Your Vehicle Requires 1.8 Quarts or 1.7 Liters.

Ditto on the Redline MTL. Had it in my ZF310 for a year now, no issues shifts great. (and mine has 222k miles on it!)

Jon, I have used both Redline MTL and Mobil 1 syn ATF in my 500k km 310Z. Didn't notice a significant difference between the two, and the M1 has been in there for a few years now. Assuming you're going by the big (yellow?) ATF sticker on the tranny?

Regardless, the Redline ATF should work fine.
