European Transmission has established a forum where you can ask special questions about tranny probs. Of course you can order also tech manuals, overhaul kits, reman trannies etc.

Will my 4hp automatic transmission from my 1990 535 swap into a 1988 735? Would like to know if this just bolts on? Thanks

Most probably not, as the 1988 is probably the older version with 8 pins on the tranny.
But you can mix it possibily like Johan has done it

and compare the part number of both cars tranny

What is mentioned in the parts catalog is one thing, but in those old days they had a lot of stock, so they used up stock first and then changed to newer parts. So better check and count the pin numbers of both cars on the tranny.
