Hello to all,
I have 1989 735il. The front seat heaters are not working properly.
The driver side only the seat back gets warm and the passenger side only the seat bottom gets warm. Does anyone have experience with repairing them?
thanks,
Fred

...I just recovered my seats in my 535i 3 weeks ago. Take the seat cover off the back of the seat and check the connections to see if they got loose somehow. Also, check the connector plugs beneath the seat as well for the same issue. Barring that I would check the fuses to see if the seat heaters are split top and bottom and controlled separately in that car. Hope this helps.

probably broken seat heat elements. You can buy new ones from the dealer or fitting ones from the aftermarket. Here are pics from the German forum how to install them.

I have also read about cases where people repaired the broken wires. Remove the leather seat covers, see for brown burnt spots in the elements and resolder the broken wires then.

But first I would use a multimeter and check the fuses for it, the power supply to the switches and from there to the heater mats.

register there, there are only E32 drivers and they know only about E32, but that best.
