Mass air flow refit

Can a mass air flow (hotwire type) from a '91 or later 535i be refit to a '90 535i (flapper type air flow sensor)?

What all is involved in this? Brain transplant? Just mass air flow meter + new rubber boots?

None of the 535i's had a MAF. You need the kit that Bruno sells for $600 at bmwe34.net.
