e32-e38 5hp30 transmission swap???????

My '94 740is trans is at the point that I need to have it replaced(I been driving in winter mode for the last 30,000 miles. I have found several used 5hp30 replacements from e38 cars, but no e32 donor units. Will an e38 trans work in my '94 e32? Thanks.

They have different BMW and ZF specification numbers.

I would call a company like European Transmissions to check out the details/differences.
