For the owners of cars in very cold climate

No real need unless ambient drops below -20C for extended periods.
There are electric 'blankets' available as well as non electric insulator blankets but these would probably be special order at your local parts counter outside of the colder areas of the US. I know Chyslers sold in Canada come with the non-electric battery blanket as standard equipment so may try your local Chrysler/Jeep parts counter.
These wrap around the outside of the battery and not under or on top so clearances wouldn't be an issue. (especially for E32 with electric rear seats, max height of the battery should not exceed 175 mm, otherwise the seat does not fit anymore)
