Seeking advice. I'll list the problem 1st and then what I have done. :(
In "A" mode car starts off in 2nd gear.
I can shift down to 1st by pulling the shift lever.but will not shift up from 2nd.
In "M" mode the car will shift from 1st to 2nd and again to 3rd.
It will not shift to 4th but stays in 3rd.
reverse does work. No errors are displayed.
this started while driving down the highway.
Now what I have done.
looked at all the blogs on this site and followed each of them carefully.
I cleaned both console switches and verified that they are in working order.
the speed sensor ohms was measured at the plug going into the TCM.
it is 1.2k ohms specs say 800-1.6kohms
I pulled the cover off the TCM and checked for cold solder joints and found only the one that are displayed in other threads,looked marginal. I did resolder them.
I dropped the pan and made sure the speed sensor is postioned correctly. OK
This trans has about 15k miles on it since it was replaced. Still looked great on the inside. No filings or dirt on botton of pan.
I don"t know if the car is in limp mode.The body is excellent shape (no rust.
engine has 224k miles. I feel the TCM is at fault. any other ideas??:D
I dont want to junk it . i would sell the car (very reasonable) to someone you can use it. Im in northern Illinois.
